protein dessert

If you’re anything like me, you are constantly trying to come up with new ideas for fueling your muscles after workouts and ensuring your body has the right amount of protein and fats before bed.

Below, is a dessert I have been using most evenings, to help stop the disastrous sweet cravings and help me hit my macros. The consistency of this desert is not unlike angel delight or a cheesecake type topping. If put straight into the freezer, it also takes an ice cream type consistency. It’s high in protein (mix of casein & whey), low in carbs, tastes great and is good value!

Ingredients (makes 2 servings):

  • 1 scoop of LDNM Whey Protein (chocolate or strawberry)
  • 1 tablespoon of almond butter or peanut butter
  • 300g of low fat cottage cheese

Optional:

  • 1 scoop of casein (any flavour)
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 10-15g of fitness fibre
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Frozen raspberries or blueberries (small handful)

Directions:

Add the cottage cheese, followed by the scoops of protein, then the tablespoon of peanut/almond butter to a blender and blend for around 1 minute, split into two small tubs and refrigerate/freeze for 30mins to 1hr until set. Then, enjoy! The other tub will be fine for the following evening…

300g tubs buddy – it’s the standard size in most supermarkets I believe!

Shouldnt use low fat versions of anything as normally has more sugar in them to replace the fat…nice idea though.

Total calories is more important fat loss and muscle gain goals, and sugar differences in this product are minimal.
